Наверное, каждый хоть раз задумывался о том, что важнее - быть или казаться? И что такое - эти «быть» и «казаться»? Например, если ты притворяешься, не показывая окружающим то, какой ты на самом деле - это же называется «казаться»? Но в то же время последствия твоего поведения в рамках этого «казаться»- в виде ли последующих событий, в виде ли реакции на них людей - они уже определенно из рода «быть».
Сочетаний и неожиданных взаимосвязей и противопоставлений этих понятий может быть очень немало - гораздо больше, чем это может показаться на первый взгляд.

Совершенно разные, казалось бы, люди случайно пересекаются. Один из них - популярный актер, известный своим отвратительным характером (и менее известным окружающим также отвратительным поведением), распугивает всех потенциальных партнеров по съемкам нового фильма, отправив уже нескольких актеров на больничную койку - просто дерясь в кадре по-настоящему. Самые хорошие его высказывания - всего лишь реплики из сценариев. Другой - представитель мира, по праву называющегося теневым, в принципе не умеющий притворяться. Занимающий в теневом мире не последнюю - но и далеко не первую - ступеньку, и занимающийся соответствующей деятельностью. Хотя когда-то давно он даже мечтал стать актером. Первый, растерявший всех возможных партнеров по съемкам фильма, предлагает второму сняться в той самой, ставшей из-за него непопулярной роли. Второй неожиданно соглашается, поставив только одно условие - все драки (а, возможно, и другие действия) в фильме будут настоящими. И окончится ли этот фильм согласно течению сценария - будет видно к его концу. А также - постепенно, то тут, то там начнет возникать вопрос - а так ли эти двое отличаются друг от друга?

Как уже было сказано - сочетаний, взаимосвязей и противопоставлений понятий «быть» и «казаться» может быть очень немало. И выбранный для истории сюжет показывает это как нельзя лучше. Кино, по сути, является всего лишь мастерски созданной иллюзией, и весь сюжет крутится вокруг его создания. Но очень часто непонятно, что же сейчас происходит на экране - какие-то реальные события или съемки очередной сцены того самого, еще не смонтированного фильма?

Впрочем, здесь рассказывается, конечно, не только об этом - отдельными (и я бы сказала, мастерскими) штрихами подчеркиваются и оттеняются очень разные вопросы. Все ли можно понять и принять, все ли можно простить, что такое верность и преданность, предательство и его искупление, возмездие за содеянное… Но основной темой я бы назвала все же эти самые «быть» и «казаться». И еще - борьба. Постоянная борьба - с собой, из-за себя. Ее контекст и последствия. И вопросы, которые этот фильм оставляет после себя.

Это очень сильный фильм - тяжелый даже, я бы сказала. И он очень хорошо снят. Сопоставления, вопросы и ответы возникают сами - из кадров, действий, событий - озвученных их довольно мало. А финальная драка - она… очень впечатляющая и говорящая лучше множества слов, и лишь притягивающая какие-то мыслеобразы и цитаты. Например: из человеческого болота - можно ли выйти, не запачкавшись? Не знаю, буду ли пересматривать, но все же могу сказать: хороший фильм. Рекомендую.

Probably, everyone thought even once about such substances as “to be” and “to seem”, and about question of what is more important for you. For example, if you pretend to be someone that is not you - it is “to seem” case. But at the same time consequences of your attitude when being in “to seem” mode - whether it’s people’s reaction or general occurrences - they already definitely belong to “to be” area. There can be very many combinations and unexpected interconnections and contrapositions between those two substances - actually there can be much more of them then it seems at first sight.

Two totally different people accidentally come across each other. One of them is a popular actor, who is famous by his detestable temper (and not so famous to others by his detestable attitude). He freaks out all of his potential partners for his new movie creation: some of them got into the hospital because he was fighting them while shooting movie scenes for real. His best words are just lines from scripts. Another one is a representative of so-called twilight world, who can’t pretend to be anyone then he is in general. The one who is standing not on the last - but also on far not the first - stage of this twilight world and is occupied with according activities - he’s a gangster. Although he even dreamed once to be an actor. The First one because of losing all partners proposes to the another one to play that same role, that became so unpopular because of him - and another one accepts it, but with one condition: all the fights in the movie would be real ones. And time will show whether the movie will end accordingly to it’s script. And with plot revolving also another question will slowly arise - are those two so different as it seems?

As it was said before, there can be a lot of combinations and unexpected interconnections and contrapositions between “to be” and “to seem” substances. And the base chosen for this story plot shows it in the best way. Movie by nature is only a skillfully made illusion, and all the plot whirls around it’s creation. But it’s very unclear sometimes what is going on at the screen - is it a movie cutting scene or it’s something from a real characters’ life?

However, it’s not the only one subject of the story - very different questions are stressed and set off with certain small (and I’d say skillful again) traits. Whether everything can be understood , accepted and forgiven, what is loyalty and devotedness, betrayal and it’s redeeming, what is retribution for one’s deeds… But I’d say that the main theme of this movie are those same two things - “to be” and “to seem”. And also - a struggle. Permanent struggle with yourself, because of yourself. This struggle's context and consequences. And - the questions that this movie leaves after itself.

It’s a very strong - and I’d even say hard - movie. And it’s shot very greatly. Comparisons, questions and answers are arising by themselves - from captures, actions, events - and there are very few of them (comparisons etc) that are voiced out properly. And the final fight is… very impressing and saying much more than many words do, and it’s just drawing out some images and quotes. I don’t know whether I will rewatch this movie, but still I can say: it’s a good film. I recommend it for watching. (But the Curse of the golden flower first! >O ^_~).
